Identity theft has become a major issue in this day of internet information. Every day, people fall victim to identity theft and have their lives turned upside down through no fault of their own. There are answers out there for people who want to protect their identities and keep themselves safe in this world of the internet and plastic money. Companies have sprung up, providing you protection and insurance against the very real threat of identity theft. Lifelock was one of the first on the scene, but they have since been joined by several competitors, most notably a company named Loudsiren As so much of the information about these companies comes in the form of advertising and blind support of one or the other, we thought it would be good to take an honest look at both companies and see how they stack up against one another. After all, if you’re going to sign up with a company in the hopes of protecting your information, you might as well get the best.

Founded in 2005, Lifelock has helped millions of people protect their identities and remain safe when it comes to using credit cards and their social security numbers in very day life. With the stories of identity theft rising with each passing year, it would seem that this is a service that more and more people would want to take advantage of. Identity theft can cost you in more ways than simply the amount of money you happen to lose in a particular transaction, after all. It can create a black mark on your credit history, making it difficult to obtain loans and credit cards in the future. All of this can happen due to no fault of your own, other than the fact that you failed to protect yourself.

With the advent of any new product or service which appear to be too good to be true, there are bound to be complaints. In the case of Lifelock, the identity theft protection service, these complaints seem to originate more often from those who are not customers than those who are. This is an interesting dichotomy, and perhaps indicative of the fact that the service is a legitimate way to help people protect their identity. In few other places is this kind of strange separation seen. It is uncommon to see a service bashed mercilessly by people who have never even tried it, and yet never once complained about by those who have. Don’t believe it? Take a good long look around the internet and see what we mean. Search for Lifelock in every place you can think of and see what people are saying. You will be hard pressed to find a single instance of customers-actual people who have signed up for the service and used it-complaining about the service they received. On the other hand, you’ll find several instances of people complaining about Lifelock without ever having tried it. What gives?
